DAY-01:
New Delhi arrival:
Meet and assist
with our GRAND INDIA TOURS representative at airport and transfer
to pre booked hotel in New Delhi. If you are arriving in Morning
New Delhi so can check in at hotel first and there is option
available for the city tour or something related tour activity
like shopping, etc. or day can be free for you without any
transportation for any activity, just stay at hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi – Srinagar (By
Air)
Meet upon arrival and transfer to Deluxe Houseboats. Late
afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake visiting floating and Vegetable
gardens etc. Also witness walnut woodcarving and papier machie
making demonstration. Dinner overnight in Deluxe Houseboats.
Day 03 : Srinagar
Morning sightseeing of Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode
of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in 1632
AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir for his
wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank
of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The
distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms
respectively. Enroute visit carpet-weaving factory. Dinner
overnight in Deluxe Houseboats.
Day 04 : Srinagar - Gulmarg
Drive to Gulmarg (Meadow
of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea level. The distance of 60 kms will
be covered in about 2 hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes
in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes.
One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits.
The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can
also have a short trek upto Khilangmarg which can be covered in
about 3 to 4 hrs. Chair Lifts for mountain ride are also
available. Lunch will be carried from the Houseboat. Dinner
overnight in Hotel at Gulmarg.
Day 05 : Gulmarg
Free for individual activities. Dinner overnight in hotel at
Gulmarg.
Day 06 : Gulmarg - Pahalgam
Leave Gulmarg after early breakfast and drive to Pahalgam (Valley
of Shepherds) via Srinagar. Drive through Saffron fields, visit
Awantipura ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by
King Awantiwareman). Drive through the pine forest and along
Lidder River. The total distance of about 140 kms will be covered
in about 4 hrs. On arrival in Pahalgam, transfer to Hotel. Lunch,
Dinner and overnight in Hotel at Pahalgam.
Day 07 : Pahalgam
Free for individual activities. Dinner overnight in hotel at
Pahalgam.
Day 08 : Pahalgam - Srinagar
Drive back to Srinagar from Pahalgam and transfer to deluxe
Houseboats Dinner overnight in Deluxe Houseboats.
Day 09 : Srinagar - Sonamarg
Full day excursion to Sonamarg by cars. The distance of about 83
kms will be covered about 2-½ hrs. Sonamarg lies in Sindh Valley
streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains. Sonamarg is
also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of
Himalayan Lake. Drive back from Sonamarg and transfer to Deluxe
Houseboats for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10 : Srinagar – Delhi (By Fly)
Free for shopping and other individual activities. Later transfer
to airport in late afternoon. Meet and assist with the Grand India
Tours representative at airport and transfer to the pre booked
hotel in Delhi. Overnight stay in Delhi.
DAY-11: Delhi
City Tour:
Full day Delhi City tour start
7 am visit the following places in Delhi or New Delhi:
> Birla Temple: @ 08:00 hrs.
Also called The Laxmi Narayana
Temple. The
temple is adorned with many shrines, fountains, and a large
garden. The temple is one of the major attractions of Delhi and
attracts thousands of devotees on the Hindu festivals of
Janmashtami and Diwali.
> India Gate:
The India Gate
is the national monument of India. Situated in the heart of New
Delhi, India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It was built
in 1931. Originally known as All India War Memorial, it is a
prominent landmark in Delhi and commemorates the 90,000 soldiers
of the British Indian Army who lost their lives while fighting for
the British Indian Empire, or more correctly the British Raj in
World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.
> Parliament House:
The Parliament of
India is the supreme legislative body in India. Founded in 1919,
the Parliament alone possesses legislative supremacy and thereby
ultimate power over all political bodies in India.
> Jantar Mantar:
The Jantra Mantra
(literally the 'instrument and formula' and often called the
Jantar Mantar), is located in the modern city of New Delhi,
Delhi. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments,
built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1724 onwards, and
is one of five built by him, as he was given by Mughal emperor
Muhammad Shah the task of revising the calendar and astronomical
tables.
> Rajghaat:
Raj Ghat is a
memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. It is a black marble platform that
marks the spot of Gandhiji's cremation on 31 January 1948. It is
left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns perpetually at
one end. It is located on the banks of the river Yamuna in Delhi
in India on Ring Road officially known as Mahatma Gandhi Road.
> Red Fort:
The Red Fort
usually transcribed into English as Lal Qil'ah or Lal
Qila) is a 17th century fort complex constructed by the lal
qila in the walled city of Old Delhi (in present day Delhi, India)
that served as the residence of the Imperial Family of India. It
also served as the capital of the Mughals until 1857, when Mughal
emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was exiled by the British Indian
government. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in
2007.
> Jama Masjid:
Delhi, is the
principal mosque of Old Delhi in India. Commissioned by the Mughal
Emperor Shah Jahan, builder of the Taj Mahal, and completed in the
year 1628 AD, it is the largest and best-known mosque in India. It
lies at the origin of a very busy central street of Old Delhi, the
Chawri Bazar Road.
> Qutub Minar:
The Qutub Minar
is a tower located in Delhi, India. It is the world's tallest
brick minaret with a height of 72.5 meters (237.8 ft).
Construction commenced by Qutb-ud-din Aibak who won Delhi from
Prithviraj under Muhammad Ghori as his commander in chief, and
finished by Iltutmish.
> Lotus Temple:
The Bahá'í House
of Worship in Delhi, India, popularly known as the Lotus
Temple due to its flowerlike shape, is a Bahá'í House of
Worship and also a prominent attraction in Delhi. It was completed
in 1986 and serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian
subcontinent.
> Akshardham Temple:
Akshardham is a Hindu
temple complex in Delhi, India. Also referred to as Delhi
Akshardham or Swaminarayan Akshardham, the complex
displays millennia of traditional Indian and Hindu culture,
spirituality, and architecture.
Evening free for personal
shopping. Stay overnight in Delhi.
DAY-12:
Departure from New Delhi:
Delhi
Departure transfer to AIRPORT or RLY. STN.
